A skeleton mariachi in a charro suit sings to a giant orange moon, over a hill of grinning pumpkins and marigolds. Black shirt, full-color print, a little spooky and a lot of Mexico.
The name is the season: those weeks before Christmas when the pumpkins are still out, the ofrenda is going up and the lights are not quite on yet.
It's the shirt for people who grew up with a Dia de Muertos altar, a pumpkin on the same porch and a certain DVD on repeat. Wear it to the pumpkin patch, the panteon, the Halloween party that turns into a serenata.
Turn around and there's a small culture code strip near the neck: LA, baseball, vinyl, skull. Not everybody clocks it. The ones who do get it.
