Metal Asada tee. A death metal graphic shirt with a carne asada logo, in black, designed in Los Angeles.
Carne asada, set in a logo you can barely read. Thorns, drips and spikes fused into one dark mass, printed in white ink on black. It looks like the back of a demo tape that smells like charcoal.
This one is for the backyard. Grill going, a band plugged into the garage, a taco in one hand and the other hand throwing horns.
Turn around and there's a small culture code strip near the neck: LA, baseball, vinyl, skull. Not everybody clocks it. The ones who do get it.
It's a lightweight jersey tee with a retail fit, easy to layer under a flannel or a long black coat. Black only. Wear it to the show, or the carne asada.
Gift it to the metalhead who runs the grill, the primo who still wears a patch vest in July, or anyone who thinks the best part of the show is the taco truck outside.
